Storage at room temperature is not recommended
because the pecan’s high healthy because the high
oil content will begin to degrade.
Best Storage
Freeze in sealed plastic bags to avoid the pecans’ absorbing odors
from other foods. Properly packaged and stored at freezing
temperatures (0 degrees Celsius; 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below),
both shelled and in-shelled pecans will both maintain their
freshness for two years or more.
Frozen in-shell pecans will remain edible for two additional years.
Good Storage
Refrigerate in sealed plastic bags to avoid absorbing odors from
other foods. Refrigerated at a temperature of 4 degrees C;
40 degrees F properly packaged shelled pecans will stay fresh for
approximately six months.
In-shell pecans will be fresh for 9-12 months.
